Form Templates created with "Rendering Options" provide users with the ability to view and print the same document in multiple formats without the hassles of manually creating multiple versions of the same document in different formats or styles. It is even possible to render forms using predesigned PDF documents.
Examples of Rendering Options:

Generating multiple documents for multiple audiences:
Your form template may include multiple sections dealing with multiple aspects of an issue. 

Imagine a corporate document that is a lengthy document with different sections that may interest only certain departments and sections that interest all departments.

You may create a master form template that is used to capture all the information related to the topic.

You may then create multiple form templates derived from the master template that only includes sections for the intended audiences.

Example:

The first paragraph is included in each form template as it describes the issue at hand.

One of the sections, describes financial issues.

One of the sections, describes marketing related issues.

One of the sections, describes sales related issues.


Building multiple templates that includes selective sections from the master template will result in being able to identify and render shorter and more targeted documents.

Based on the example above, an executive summary version of the form template would include the first paragraph and few other sections that serve to summarize the entire document. This document may also include certain financial sections as it may involve the approval of an executive member of the staff.

Another template may be used to include the first section and the section related to marketing. This way, the marketing staff would only read the sections of this document that involve or interest them.

The Resume case:
A Form Template can be created to capture resume data.

You may use one or more Form Templates to display the resume for different purposes.

For example, you may use a form template to capture resume data that includes all information you need for various formats. The editing of the resume would be done using the same format. However, you may use various other form templates to display the resume.

Each Form Template used to render the document may be customized to different targets. Another idea is to suppress the address and contact information for the version you submit to customers.


To see if your form allows multiple Rendering Options:
  1. Select a document created from a form template
  2. Click on the "Document Properties" icon in the "Action" column
  3. Scroll down in the "Document Properties" window to display the section titled "Rendering Options"
  4. If you see different items listed in this section, click on the available rendering options to display the document in a different format.
Defining Rendering Options:

Include the Template names separated by commas in the META section of your base HTML Form template.

It is also possible to automatically render a form template in PDF format.

By default, infoRouter supports the conversion of HTML documents into PDF but if you would like to convert your form template into a predesinged PDF document. Refer to the "RENDER-WITH" feature described in detail in the Form Template Manager's Guide.
